What An Owl Can Do To Camouflage Itself.

Owls are secretive and very elusive. They are usually extremely well camouflaged. Many owls have streaked or barred chest that blends with the tree bark. Adding to the owls overall camouflage by breaking up its shape are the ear tufts which have nothing to do with hearing. An owls ability to go from a plump shape to a very elongated shape when alarmed also helps camouflage the owl by making it look like a tree stump or part of a branch.
