An Owl's Body

Owls glide and fly in total silence. Their feathers, wings, and legs are structured so there are no hard edges to cause wind resistance. Their feathers have soft, velvety covering. The owls' silent flight allows an owl to completely surprise its prey. The owls silent flight also enables it to flush unobserved and disappear from an area where you know its been. Owls have light weight bodies and wide wings which helps them to fly silently. When in flight and perched an owl appears headless. The owls' large head merges with the body as one tubular shape.
